Three Year Saint-Gobain contract for F&G
F&G are gearing up for a very busy 2007 with the news of a new three year contract with Saint-Gobain, one of the worlds leading industrial corporations.
Saint-Gobain consists of over 40 subsidiary businesses, involved in a range of manufacturing and building material distribution activities. Together, these companies employ around 20,000 people and have total annual sales of over £2.5 billion.
One of their companies is Jewson, the UK’s primary timber and building materials supplier, with over 440 branches nationwide.
This exciting opportunity will see an order of around 350 to 400 Euro 4 DAF vehicles over the next 3 years, making F&G Commercials, Saint-Gobains’ main northern supplier. Because of the variations of specifications needed for each vehicle, Saint-Gobain turned to DAF, to deal with the wide-ranging number of conditions required for each of their many different companies.
This exciting new contract will no doubt give F&G a good platform to build on and help to move the business forward. It will also see the two branches working together as one full functioning business to handle this new contract.
The main focus of operations for this new order will take place at the Barnsley branch, using their preparation and production bay to its capacity, leaving space open at Huddersfield to continue operations with the minimum of disruption.
