Mixing Business with Pleasure
The M1X assisted Calderdale Council this month in the organising and promoting of the hugely successful, West Yorkshire Built in Quality Awards, 2007.
Following on from the last two years’ awards ceremonies, Calderdale Council wanted to modernise the event as a whole, raise the profile and create a much more exciting social occasion for its 250 guests.
The main focus of this campaign for the M1X was the complete re-design and production of all advertising literature, tickets, certificates and PowerPoint presentations to a fresh, modern and simple eye catching design, which also showcased the superb work of the nominees.
Another crucial part of the promotion was a specifically targeted and structured three month Public Relations campaign which involved securing coverage in all local papers, construction and building magazines and the LABC newsletter. These releases publicised the event before, during and after and built up interest and anticipation for sponsors, organisers, nominees and potential nominees around the region. Photography and corporate hospitality for the evening was conducted by the team and the organisation of sponsorship packages for this year and for potential sponsors in the future were also dealt with by the M1X.
Phil Deacon, Team Leader at Calderdale Council Building Control said, “The event was a massive success and we were exceptionally pleased by the amount of exposure the M1X built up. Because of the popularity and demand for tickets this year, we are considering holding next year’s awards at a larger venue and wish to continue working with the M1X to ensure the Built In Quality Awards can continue growing every year, allowing us to showcase the excellent work conducted by West Yorkshire’s builders, contractors and developers.”
